West Routt Fire to hold a meeting on possible levy

The West Routt Fire Protection District's board is considering putting a mill levy question on the November ballot. Proceeds would be used to replace the outdated fire rescue truck, buy a ladder truck, buy updated mission-critical equipment, make improvements to the fire station and add paid firefighters on a slowly expanding basis, according to a letter sent to community leaders.

The board is proposing a 3.5 mill increase, which would cost homeowners an estimated $2.30 per $100,000 of home value per month, according to the letter.

A public meeting is at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Community Room at the Haven Community Center in Hayden.
