Steamboat briefs: Worsley send-off is Thursday at Haymaker Patio Grill

Haymaker Patio Grill will host a send-off from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday for Patti and Don Worsley.
The Worsleys' son Blake Worsley will be swimming for Canada in the London Summer Olympics.
People are asked to wear red and white, and anyone is welcome to attend.
Blake Worsley, a former University of Denver swimmer and 2005 Steamboat Springs High School graduate, is scheduled to swim the 200-meter freestyle and 800-meter freestyle relay for Team Canada.
The initial heat for the 200 free is set to begin at 3:20 a.m. July 29. The first 800 relay heats are scheduled for 4:17 a.m. July 31.
Steamboat Institute to host 4th Freedom Conference
The fourth annual Freedom Conference, presented by The Steamboat Institute, is Aug. 24 and 25 at Steamboat Ski Area and The Steamboat Grand. The event features Mary Katharine Ham, a conservative columnist and Fox News contributor. Conservative columnist and best-selling author Michelle Malkin and former U.N. Ambassador John Bolton also will speak at the event. Full conference registration is $295. The cost is $150 for students or young professionals younger than 30. Local Board of Realtors accepts grant applications
The Steamboat Springs Board of Realtors is accepting grant applications from qualified organizations that provide housing services to moderate to low-income households. To be eligible for funds, organizations must be based in Colorado, have a housing-related mission and be a nonprofit agency with a 501(c)(3) status or a public agency. Habitat seeks experienced framers to teach others
Routt County Habitat for Humanity is in need of experienced framers who would like to teach volunteers how to put up interior walls. Morning and evening shifts are needed every Wednesday and most Saturdays through October. Volunteers can donate as few as one three-hour shift few month. Volunteers must enjoy teaching and have a keen eye for safety and quality construction. A full day's work includes lunch.
Lobster bake, golf tourney benefits Winter Sports Club
A lobster bake and golf tournament to benefit the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club Foundation is Aug. 18 at Catamount Ranch & Club. Atmos Energy warning of possible utility credit scam
Atmos Energy issued a news release warning Colorado residents of a scam telling customers that President Barack Obama is offering to provide credits for or directly pay utility bills. Customers then are asked to provide their Social Security numbers to apply for the bogus credits or payments.
Atmos Energy reports that potential victims have been approached in person, via fliers and by social media and texting. Atmos Energy said its employees never contact customers asking for personal information such as Social Security numbers.
