North Routt charter school fundraiser set for Sept. 15

The North Routt Community Charter School barbecue and fundraiser is from 2 to 7 p.m. Sept. 15 at Hahn's Peak Roadhouse. The annual event includes food, games, wagon and pony rides, a silent auction and live music by Pouder Canyon Pickers. The cost is $15 for adults, $5 for children and free for children 2 and younger. Tickets are available at the gate or in advance at the Clark Store, and proceeds benefit the charter school.

Natural resource project proposals are due Friday

Proposals seeking funds for local natural resource projects through the Medicine Bow-Routt Resource Advisory Committee are due Friday, according to a news release. Funding is available for projects that will enhance forest ecosystems or restore and improve land health and water quality on Medicine Bow and Routt National Forest land as well as nearby land. About $42,442 is available for Routt County projects, according to the release.

The advisory committee will work with the U.S. Forest Service to recommend projects that will benefit forest health, fish, wildlife, soils, watersheds and other resources; maintain roads, trails and other infrastructure; or control noxious weeds, according to the release.
