Steamboat Briefs: Veterans Medical Center to host PTSD seminars today

Steamboat Springs — Two presentations on post-traumatic stress disorder for family members of those suffering from PTSD will be at the Grand Junction VA Medical Center. The first presentation is from 5:30 to 7 p.m. today, and the second is from 5:30 to 7 p.m. July 20. Enter through the front lobby and follow the signs.
Attendance is restricted to adult family members and friends of people with PTSD. The presentations include: PTSD and the Brain, PTSD and Medications, Evidence Based Psychotherapy Treatments, How PTSD Affects Families and Children. For details, call 970-263-2800, ext. 2169.
VNA offering meningitis vaccines for students
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and other leading medical groups recommend meningococcal vaccine for: ages 11 to 18 years and ages 19 to 21 years who will be attending college. College students younger than 22 who received a meningococcal vaccine before age 16 years should receive a booster.
