Steamboat briefs: Tread of Pioneers Museum looking for volunteers

The Tread of Pioneers Museum needs front-desk volunteers to work three-hour shifts. Duties include greeting visitors, answering phones, collecting admissions and gift shop sales.

Horizons offers screenings for children’s development

Horizons Specialized Services provides free screenings for children. If you’re a parent and concerned about your child’s development, call Kathy Northcutt at 970-871-8558. The screenings can answer questions such as, “Should he be walking by now?” “How many words should she be saying?” and “Is her hearing and vision what it should be?”

LIFT-UP seeks volunteers to work in store, center

LIFT-UP of Routt County is in need of volunteers to work in the thrift store and donation center at 2125 Curve Court in Steamboat Springs. Volunteers must be able to lift 25 pounds, and duties include sorting and pricing donated items, stocking shelves and straightening up display areas. Shifts are available from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays.



The LIFT-UP Food Bank also is seeking volunteers to work as desk clerks. Volunteers must have computer and interpersonal skills and must be able to honor client confidentiality. Shifts are available between 1 and 5 p.m. weekdays.
