Steamboat briefs: Swiggart named regional development officer for CMC

Steamboat Springs — Jim Swiggart has been named the regional development officer for Colorado Mountain College in Steamboat Springs, according to a news release. He will be the local representative of the CMC Foundation, which raises funds for scholarships and capital projects for the college.
Swiggart also is the tennis concessionaire for the Tennis Center at Steamboat Springs, where he has worked since it opened in 1991. He has been involved in fundraising and volunteerism, serving on the board of the United Way, as president of the Steamboat Springs and Ski Town USA Rotary Clubs, and as a member of the advisory boards of Vectra Bank and Catamount Ranch & Club.
In addition, Swiggart served the city for four years on the Haymaker Golf Committee, and he has helped the tennis community raise $400,000 to build outdoor tennis courts in 1997 and the new indoor complex in 2007, according to the release. Nationally, he served as president of the United States Professional Tennis Association-Intermountain division and on the USPTA's national executive committee.
