Steamboat briefs: Solandt Memorial Hospital continues offering services

The Solandt Memorial Hospital aims to continually pay tribute to the memory of pioneer physician John Solandt by maintaining, preserving and using the community building for health and well-being services that provide for the needs of the community.

Dr. Louise Thielen, of Steamboat Medical Group, is available from 9 a.m. to about 4 p.m. Tuesdays and from 9 a.m. to noon Fridays. Thielen can be reached at 970-276-4270 or 970-879-0203. Groups seek local authors for an upcoming festival

The Steamboat Springs Arts Council, Steamboat Springs Writers Group, Off the Beaten Path Bookstore and Bud Werner Memorial Library are presenting a festival of local authors to coincide with the All Arts Festival. "Written Art: The Festival of Local Authors" will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 18 in Library Hall and will include book signings and sales as well as engaging panels of author interviews and discussions. Visiting Nurse Association is offering health workshop

Aging Well, a program of the Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association, will offer Healthier Living Colorado, a self-management workshop for adults 18 and older coping with chronic illnesses or health problems. The workshop is from 10 a.m. to noon Mondays beginning June 4 and ending July 9 at the Northwest Colorado VNA. The cost is $20 for materials.
