Steamboat briefs: Police look into 3 reported sexual assaults
September 18, 2010
Steamboat Springs — Steamboat Springs Police Department detectives are investigating three reported sexual assaults in Steamboat Springs in the past week.
Two roommates reported two sexual assaults Tuesday and another woman reported an assault Wednesday.
"We are still trying to substantiate the allegations," Detective Nick Bosick said Friday. He and other detectives were working on the cases Friday. He said it doesn't appear the report from the roommates is related to the report from Wednesday.
"We're putting a lot of time and effort into it," he said.
Investigators are interviewing the women and collecting evidence, and there is no suspect in any of the cases. Officers said they do not think the assaults represent a specific threat to the general public.
