Steamboat briefs: Man charged with giving alcohol to minors at party

— Steamboat Springs police arrested a man after he reportedly supplied alcohol to minors at a Dec. 15 party.

The man, a Steamboat resident with Mexican citizenship, was arrested on charges of contributing to a delinquency of a minor, a Class 4 felony. Booking information indicates that the man is 19 years old, but officer Josh Carrell, who is investigating the case, said that he still is investigating the man’s age and that he might be a minor. Carrell said six people, including the suspect, were at the party.

Sgt. Rich Brown said the party happened on Shadow Run Frontage and that a parent of a minor who was at the party reported the incident.

The Steamboat Pilot & Today is not printing the name of the man being charged until it is clear whether he is a juvenile or adult.
