Steamboat briefs: Library to waive overdue fines for teens next week

As part of Teen Read Week, the Bud Werner Memorial Library will waive overdue fines for teens ages 13 to 18 who visit the library from Oct. 16 to 22. Teen Read Week is an annual event sponsored by the American Library Association. Drop in at the library and see which books got voted the 2011 Teen Top Ten. Shingles vaccine offered for those 60 and older

The Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association is offering the Zostavax vaccine for shingles. Adults ages 60 and older who are low income and uninsured (no Medicare, Medicaid or private insurance) may qualify to receive the vaccine for a $14 fee. Patients may apply for this program by making an appointment at the Steamboat Springs office by calling 970-879-1632 or calling the Craig office 970-824-8233.
