Routt County United Way's Holiday Wishes program is in urgent need of donors who would like to donate $25 food gift cards or adopt a family or person. Anyone who would like to donate is asked to call 970-879-5605, email firstname.lastname@example.org or stop by 270 Anglers Drive on the second floor of the First National Bank of the Rockies building behind McDonald's.
Stars at Night fundraiser set for 6:30 p.m. Dec. 30
The Stars at Night fundraising gala, "100 Years of Going for the Gold," on Dec. 30 will be a celebration of the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club's 100th year. The event will be held at The Steamboat Grand beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Tickets are $150 each and can be purchased online at http://www.sswscfoundation.org or at Christy Sports or the Winter Sports Club office.
All proceeds from the gala benefit the SSWSC Foundation, an endowment created as a permanent fund that provides long-term financial support, stability and opportunity for all SSWSC children, athletes and coaches.

Registration for Steamboat Pentathlon now accepted
The city of Steamboat Springs Parks, Open Space and Recreational Services Department announces registration for the 23rd annual Steamboat Pentathlon on March 8 now is being accepted. Individuals and teams are encouraged to register by Dec. 31 to receive early bird registration rates. Fees will increase starting Jan. 1 and again Feb. 1. Registration will remain open until March 3. All entries will receive an event T-shirt and lunch and will be entered into the prize raffle drawing.
The Pentathlon is a five-stage winter multisport race that includes Alpine skiing/riding, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, mountain biking and running with standard and short courses available. Registrants can enter as a team or as an individual.

Hayden's roving Christmas tree to return Christmas Eve
Hayden's roving Christmas tree is scheduled to return this Christmas Eve, according to Cindy Wright, the granddaughter of the late Walt Webber, who began the tradition 75 years ago. This year, Wright said a Webber's Roving Christmas Tree page has been established on Facebook, and anyone who "likes" the page can follow the tree's procession through Hayden on Tuesday night. Those who would like for Santa to pay a visit to their home are encouraged to leave their porch lights on and watch for the traveling tree. For more information, call Wright at 970-276-4446.

Recycle bins for broken, old holiday lights set up

The Solandt Memorial Hospital aims to continually pay tribute to the memory of pioneer physician John Solandt by maintaining, preserving and using the community building in Hayden for health and well-being services that provide for the needs of the community.
