Steamboat briefs: Hayden’s Mitchel Doolin makes spring dean’s list

Mitchel Doolin, a 2009 graduate of Hayden High School, made the Colorado School of Mines dean's list for the spring semester with a 4.0 GPA. Doolin is majoring in petroleum engineering and is serving an internship for Devon Energy in Oklahoma City. He is the son of Lee and Debbie Doolin.

Steamboat's Ana Orellana receives bank scholarship

Ana Orellana, a 2012 Steamboat Springs High School graduate, received one of 13 scholarships awarded to Latino and Hispanic students by Alpine Bank. Orellana's family moved to Steamboat Springs from Honduras when she was 10. She plans to use the $4,400 scholarship to attend the Colorado Mountain College campus in Glenwood Springs and earn an associate degree in nursing.

Sailors football summer camp to begin Monday

A Steamboat Springs High School Sailors football summer camp is at 5 p.m. Monday to Friday at Gardner Field. The camp is open to students in grades nine to 12. The $50 cost includes equipment. Insurance and a waiver are required. Habitat's ReStore expands donations, changes hours

Routt County Habitat's ReStore, 718 Oak St., is expanding the donations it accepts from just large, working household appliances to include home furniture and decor in good repair, lighting and other building supplies. These items are being stockpiled in anticipation of opening a 3,000-square-foot space in Steamboat. Habitat ReStore hours change starting Tuesday. The store will be open from 10 a.m. to noon and noon to 3 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays. The store will be closed Saturdays through Mondays. Donations can be dropped off during store hours only.
