Adult baseball league stepping to the plate
Steamboat Springs — The Yampa Valley Adult Baseball Club begins its summer/fall league this Sunday on fields in Steamboat Springs and Craig. The free league is open to everyone and runs until mid-September. Call Tommy at 871-4776 for more information.
Deadline for children’s reading program nears
Bud Werner Memorial Library is reminding young readers, ages 5 to 10, that reading games for the “Building Excitement, Building Readers” summer reading program must be completed by Aug. 1, which also is the last day to collect reading prizes. Call the children’s library at 879-0240.
Volunteers needed for Wild West Relay
The Wild West Relay, a Steamboat Running Series event, is in need of volunteers for the race on Aug. 1-2. All proceeds from the race benefit suicide prevention efforts in Routt and Moffat counties. Volunteers need to register by Monday. Call Lisa at 879-2141 to sign up to volunteer.
DOW to host fishing and shooting clinic for women
The Colorado Division of Wildlife’s “Women Afield” program sponsors a Cast & Blast Clinic for women ages 12 and older from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 2 in Steamboat Springs. Call the Steamboat DOW office at 870-2197 to sign up.
