Parking lot paving work may cause trail detours
The city of Steamboat Springs and Connell Resources have begun work to pave the parking lot at River Creek Park near the Yampa River at U.S. Highway 40 and Walton Creek Road, according to a news release.
Steamboat Springs City Council voted unanimously in March to approve the construction of a public restroom, transit facility and parking lot paving at the park.
The parking lot will be closed periodically during construction. Bicyclists and pedestrians also should watch for detours on the Yampa River Core Trail.
The about $350,000 project is expected to last through October, according to the release.
