Steamboat briefs: Ducks Unlimited banquet tickets on sale

Steamboat Springs — Tickets are on sale for the annual Ducks Unlimited banquet and auction, which starts at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 30 at the Sheraton Steamboat Resort. Tickets are available from committee members or at Elk River Guns. A discount price on tickets is available until Monday, and ticket prices increase $10 after that. YPN Board of Advisors is seeking applicants

Grant applications being accepted through Oct. 18
Applications for 2011 Human Resource Coalition Grants are being accepted through Oct. 18. HRC Grants are the funding process for city and county funds to support health and human service programs in our community. Home Builders is seeking sponsors for Toys for Tots
The Home Builders Association of Steamboat is seeking sponsors and donations for its second annual Toys for Tots fundraiser and toy distribution. The group plans to serve families in Routt, Moffat and Grand counties this holiday season. Sponsorship levels are $500 for Angel Sponsors, $300 for Santa Sponsors and $100 for Snowman Sponsors. Checks can be made out to HBA Steamboat with "HBA Steamboat/Toys for Tots Fundraiser" in the memo line.

Council on Aging seeking Routt County centenarians
In May 2011, the Colorado Commission on Aging is considering having its annual Centenarian Celebration in Steamboat, according to the Routt County Council on Aging. The Centenarian Project is a promotional activity of the Commission on Aging to celebrate the lives of centenarians across the state, recognize their century of achievement, and focus the attention of Coloradans on the political and social issues of aging. The project awards centenarian certificates prepared by the commission and signed by the governor to those 100 or older. Those who know of someone in Routt County who will be turning 100 this year or has already reached that milestone are asked to contact Laura Schmidt at the Routt County Council on Aging at email@example.com or 970-879-0633.
Newborn Network group is offering free services
Newborn Network is a support system dedicated to providing parenting and resource information to all families who live in Routt County and have children 0as old as 3 years old. Newborn Network's free services include weekly networking and education groups, parenting education home visits, a lending library of parenting topics and a series of gift bags.
