Steamboat briefs: Donation drive for victims of wildfires is Saturday

A local donation drive to help victims of Colorado wildfires will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at 1155 Central Park Drive. The drive, organized by resident Carmen Gatewood, is seeking items such as kitchen goods, linens, furniture, canned foods, first-aid kits, pet food and pet kennels. Registration opens Monday for the Plein-Air Paint-Out
Registration is open for the Plein-Air Paint-Out as part of Hayden Heritage Weekend from Monday to July 7. Artists are invited to paint the historic homesteads and ranches as well as the schoolhouse featured in author Dorothy Wickenden's book "Nothing Daunted." Registration is $15 and includes a trip to the Elkhead School House and the Barbecue and Barn Dance on July 7. Steamboat's Boys & Girls Club to be closed next week
The Boys & Girls Club of Steamboat Springs will be closed Monday through July 6. The club will reopen at 7:30 a.m. July 9.
Annual Rally for the Cure is July 10 at Rollingstone
Steamboat's 13th annual Rally for the Cure golf tournament is July 10 at Rollingstone Ranch Golf Club. Tee times are at 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. Proceeds benefit the Yampa Valley Breast Cancer Awareness Project and Rally For The Cure. The tournament is a four-person team, scramble format. There are no age restrictions, and no golf handicaps are necessary. The $100 entry fee includes green fees, carts, lunch and donations. The cost for nongolfers is $25 for lunch, donation and activities. Registration forms are available at all area golf courses.
