Steamboat briefs: Children’s Book Feast tickets available online

Tickets are on sale for the Children's Book Feast on Sept. 28 at Bud Werner Memorial Library and Depot Art Center. The Book Feast is an all-day literary arts event that promotes literacy, books, reading and art for school-age children. Presentations and storytelling performances will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Library Hall, and workshops for children ages 8 and older will be at the Depot. This year's line-up includes Rocky Mountain resident artists Steve Jenkins, Paul Taylor, Claudia Mills, Kathleen Pelley, Jeannie Mobley and local author Dagny McKinley.

Wasserman is named to dean's list at Salisbury
Elizabeth Wasserman, of Steamboat Springs, was named to the dean's list at Salisbury University for the spring 2013 semester, according to a news release.
REPS seeks volunteers for program at hospital
Reaching Everyone Preventing Suicide is in need of volunteers to become part of its Suicide Prevention Advocates program at Yampa Valley Medical Center. The program is designed to help those who have attempted suicide or are having thoughts of suicide and have been hospitalized. Those who are interested are asked to call Ronna Autrey at 970-846-8182.
LiveWell strives to help families eat healthily
LiveWell Northwest Colorado is helping families be healthy by working to improve eating habits and to be more physically active through the "Let's Go! 5-2-1-0" program. The program sets the goal each day of eating five or more fruits and vegetables, watching two or fewer hours of TV, getting an hour or more of physical activity and drinking zero sugary drinks.
