Steamboat briefs: Booths are available for Dec. 15 Holiday Craft Fair

The Haven Assisted Living Center will host the Holiday Craft Fair from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 15. There are 21 booths available for vendors at $30 per booth, $10 for electricity and tables available to rent. All proceeds from booth rentals will support senior programs at the Haven. Posts host Veterans Day events through November
Steamboat Springs American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars posts host Veterans Day events throughout November:
■ Veterans Day programs at Steamboat elementary schools will be Nov. 7. Veteran volunteers are need for programs at 9 a.m. at Strawberry Park and at 1:30 p.m. at Soda Creek. Those who would like to help are asked to call Tony at 970-846-5035, Gaylon at 970-846-9721 or Jim at 970-879-3936.
■ A free Veterans Day dance is at 7 p.m. Nov. 10 at VFW Post No. 4264.
■ Visit veterans from 11 to 11:45 a.m. Nov. 12 at the Doak Walker Care Center.
■ Volunteers are needed for Turkey Bingo on Nov. 18. Shifts are from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 2 to 5:30 p.m. Call Jim at 970-879-3936 or Wayne at 970-757-0074 to volunteer.
■ Volunteers are needed to help with the Habitat for Humanity house that is being built in Riverside for a local man who is serving in the Navy. Those who would like to help build a fence in the yard are asked to call Tony Weiss at 970-846-5035.
Donation fund set up to help family after house fire
A donation fund has been set up to assist Debbie Mosser and her son, Dillon Silcox, whose rental home on Willett Court was damaged in a fire Sept. 29. The family is in need of funds to help cover the costs of relocating to a new home and to replace furniture, bedding, clothing and other personal items that were damaged in the fire. Donations may be made at Yampa Valley Bank, 600 S. Lincoln Ave.
Emerald Mountain School is enrolling for 2013-14

Spare the Air campaign encourages involvement
Community educators, businesses and residents are encouraged to get involved with the Spare the Air anti-idling education campaign. The goal of the program is to encourage drivers to turn off idling vehicles after 30 seconds unless traffic safety demands otherwise, according to a news release. Educators are provided with support materials, and Spare the Air signs are available for $11. Donated motor vehicles help fund Habitat homes
Routt County Habitat for Humanity is reminding residents that motor vehicle donations help fund new Habitat homes through the Cars for Homes program. Motor vehicles — including cars, trucks, boats, RVs, etc. — can be donated by calling 1-877-277-4344 or by going to http://www.cars
forhomes.org. The cars then are sold at auction or to recyclers or salvage yards, and the funds are used to build Habitat homes in partnership with low-income families.
Integrated Community is seeking volunteers to help
