Steamboat briefs: Atmos Energy encouraging residents to have lines marked
August 10, 2012
Atmos Energy hopes today will serve as a reminder to Routt County residents to call 811 to have underground utility lines marked prior to any digging project, according to a news release.
"The 811 program is provided at no charge, and it can save you time and money as well as prevent threats to life and property," said Dave Good, Atmos Energy's Colorado vice president of operations.
Multi-Modal Road Users Advisory to meet Monday
The Routt County Multi-Modal Road Users Advisory Board will meet Monday to discuss identifying sections of Routt County and U.S. Forest Service roads to be used as ATV trails, according to County Manager Tom Sullivan. The discussion is in conjunction with an effort by Moffat County to create loops on county roads and Forest Service trails for ATV use, and the advisory board is seeking public comment.
The current proposal would use C.R. 80 to connect Forest Service Trails 1144 and 1144.6A, Sullivan wrote in an email. Forest Service Road 110 and C.R. 82 also could be used to expand the loop, he wrote.
The meeting is from 6 to 7 p.m. at Wolf Mountain Pizza, 175 Jefferson Ave., Hayden.
