Youths can pay off book fines through December
During December, youths ages 17 and younger can pay off their book fines by participating in Bud Werner Memorial Library's Food for Fines Program. For every can or box of food brought to the Kids' Desk, the library will waive $1 of overdue fines.
The following items will count toward $2 in waived fines: canned tuna or chicken, peanut butter, pasta sauce and healthy cereal (no high-fructose corn syrup). All food will be donated to the LIFT-UP Food Bank. Visit http://www.steamboatlibrary.org for more information.
