Steamboat briefs: 24th scholarship fund golf tournament set for June 6
April 26, 2012
The 24th annual Youth Educational Scholarship Fund Golf Tournament will take place June 6 at Rollingstone Ranch Golf Club. The tournament is organized by the Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Association Ambassadors, a group of volunteers that promote local businesses and assist with charitable causes. More than $170,000 has been awarded to scholarship recipients through the fundraiser, according to a news release. The funds are awarded in two categories: graduating Routt County seniors and returning recipients. A business-related course of study is required to qualify.
The tournament format is a mixed scramble with four-player teams, or five-player teams if a team has at least one female player. The cost is $135 per player. Prizes will be awarded to the top three teams, and hole-in-one prizes include a car donated by Steamboat Motors and $25,000 donated by Yampa Valley Bank.
