Stagecoach man accused of sexually assaulting child

Steamboat Springs — Bond has been set at $250,000 for a 40-year-old Stagecoach man charged with sexual assault on a child.
According to an arrest report, the man was arrested Friday afternoon on a warrant by the Routt County Sheriff's Office. The Routt County District Attorney's Office on Monday filed three charges of sex assault on a child and one count of enticement of a child, Class 4 felonies. There also are three charges of sexual assault on a child with a pattern of sexual abuse, Class 3 felonies.
The enticement of a child charges allege the man attempted to invite or persuade a child to enter any vehicle, building, room or secluded place with the intent to commit sexual assault or unlawful sexual contact upon the child.
According to the charges, the incidents occurred from May 4 to 25, and the victim was younger than 15 years old.
Most of the documents related to the case have been sealed by a judge.
The Steamboat Pilot & Today does not typically identify those accused of sex crimes until they have been convicted.
The man is scheduled to return to court at 1 p.m. Wednesday.
