Athletes and alumni look back on 100 years of memories

Q. When were you in the club and what discipline?

A. 2005 to 2009, 11 to 16 years old. (Alpine skiing)

Q. Who were your friends in the club?

A. I remember my time in the club as being part of a big family; everyone looked out for each other in one way or another. To be honest, I couldn't list my friends from the club without a full roster from each year.

Q. What is your favorite club memory?

A. I remember the thrill of getting dropped off at Howelsen to go on a trip. Loading the van, saying goodbye to my parents, skipping school and going on a trip to a new ski area with all of my friends. The excitement of it all never got old!

Q. What impact did the club have on you?

A. Besides being a stepping stone to my path as a ski racer, the Winter Sports Club has grounded me to the skiing and Steamboat communities. I have such a deep love for my sport, and I hope to share it with the communities that have encouraged me to take this journey.
