For the first time in a handful of weeks, the Soroco High School track and field team did not break any school records when it competed Friday at the Clint Wells Invitational in Craig. In fact, nothing really stood out to Soroco coach David Bruner as being special. Even freshman Chloe Veilleux’s dominance in the mile and two-mile races was nothing surprising.
It didn’t happen Friday at the Coal Ridge Invitational, but the belief is Hayden High School sophomore Alan Aguirre will reach his goal before the track season ends.
Hayden track and field led by strong contingent of underclassmen
There is still a hint of fear for the Tigers, who continue their season at Coal Ridge on Friday, less than a month before the state track meet gets underway in Lakewood. But, as the weeks go by, this fear is being replaced by excitement and determination.
