Soroco volleyball downs Beth Eden Baptist

— The Soroco High School girls volleyball team opened up the season with a 3-1 win against Beth Eden Baptist on Friday.

Soroco was in control for much of the first two games, winning 25-14 and 25-20. But then the Rams inexplicably let down, losing the third 25-14.

"Something happens in that third game, and we lose our focus," Rams coach Kim Reeves said.

But the Rams bounced back in the fourth game, easily beating the Knights, 25-12.

"We have a solid team," Reeves said. "We have a solid all-around team. It's nice to not have just one person to turn to. We have five other girls that can really lift up the team."

The team next plays Friday at Vail Mountain.
