Soroco girls hoops picks up win in Vail

Jacey Schlegel poured in 13 points, one of her best outputs of the season, Saturday as the Soroco High School girls basketball team won at Vail Christian, 46-37.

"It's always nice to get a win there. That's a tough place to play," coach David Bruner said. "The girls played with great effort. We played solid defense all night, and while we didn't shoot the ball as well as we could have, defensively we played well enough to win."

Jessica Rossi had 10 points for the Rams. Shelby Meyer and Briana Peterson each had nine.

Soroco, 9-3, led throughout the game but never was able to pull away. Finally in the fourth quarter, the gap grew.

"It was a good win for us," Bruner said.
