Soroco boys hoops rolls to victory against North Park

Luke Graham

— Now that’s a game plan Soroco High School boys basketball coach Sam McLeod can dig.

Soroco established forward Ryan Jeep early, let Nic Paxton take over late and ran away with a 75-44 win Friday at North Park.

The Rams led 38-23 at halftime thanks in large part to 16 first-half points by Jeep. In the second half, when North Park started to clamp down inside, Paxton started to light it up from outside, finishing with a game-high 26 points.

Jeep finished with 20 points and 15 rebounds.

“Hopefully, that formula works in the future,” McLeod said. “That’s what you want to be able to do.”

Soroco (5-6 overall, 3-3 in league play) now will have revenge on its mind. The team plays at 4 p.m. Saturday at West Grand, which nudged the Rams by a point earlier this season.

“We want to do the same thing,” McLeod said. “That’s the key. That’s the key the rest of the season.”
