Snapchat picture irks resident at senior center: The Record for Monday, July 17, 2017

5:58 a.m. Steamboat Springs Police Department officers were called to a report of a disturbance in the 1100 block of Saratoga Avenue. An argument between a man and woman woke up someone at a neighboring property, so they called police.

7 a.m. Officers were called to a report of threats being made in the 1100 block of South Lincoln Avenue. An older man carrying a sleeping bag walked into a fast food restaurant and told them it would be their last day. The man left and headed toward a Starbucks before police arrived.

8:05 a.m. Officers were called to a report of a woman who left a purse containing a couple of checkbooks in a shopping cart at Safeway.

11:48 a.m. Officers were called to a report of someone who left a wallet on the back of a toilet at the Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Association building. The wallet was gone when the person returned later in the day.

2:22 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a woman who received a text message with some vulgar language in the 2200 block of Elk River Road.

3:45 p.m. Officers were called to a report of some younger adults parked in a car smoking marijuana near a tavern at Seventh and Yampa streets. Police issued one of the vehicle occupants a ticket for consuming marijuana underage.

5:21 p.m. Officers were called to a complaint involving social media use at a senior living center in the 28000 block of Owl Hoot Trail. A group of residents at the senior center had used Snapchat to take a photo, but did not get permission of another resident who was in the background of the picture. A complaint was filed and forwarded to the police department after the photo ended up on social media without the resident’s permission.
