Steamboat Springs — The Steamboat Ski and Resort Corp. is investigating an incident in which a ski patroller lost control of a snowmobile Saturday afternoon. The snowmobile traveled about 100 yards without an operator before it came to a stop on the Concentration trail, Ski Corp. spokesman Mike Lane said.
The Ski Patrol member was heading down the Vagabond trail when he veered too far left of the trail toward Concentration, Lane said. He said the snowmobile started to get away from the patroller, who jumped off the machine. The snowmobile came to rest above the Tower 3 Road catwalk on Concentration, Lane said. He said no one was hurt, including the Ski Patrol member.
Lane couldn't say whether there would be disciplinary action.
"We'll be investigating it and we'll see where we go from there," he said.
