Routt County oil and gas working group to finish reviewing conditions

Jack Weinstein

— The Routt County oil and gas working group will finish reviewing 61 conditions of approval for oil and gas permits and possibly add more Wednesday night.

The volunteer group of local property owners, county officials and industry professionals reviewed 47 of the conditions Dec. 28. Wednesday's meeting is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. in the Commissioners Hearing Room on the third floor of the Routt County Courthouse.

Planning Director Chad Phillips said the goal was to have the conditions reviewed and the list completed before the Jan. 19 Planning Commission meeting but said that won't happen. He said a staff work session is scheduled with the Routt County Board of Commissioners on Jan. 10 to go over the conditions of approval and suggestions from the working group.

Phillips said that didn't give planning staff and the county's attorneys time to finalize the conditions before the Planning Commission reviews an application from Quicksilver Resources to drill on the Camilletti & Sons Ranch west of Milner.
