Holli Salazar, track and field
2009 graduate of Hayden High School, senior at CSU-Pueblo
No stranger to setting records in her years in Hayden, Salazar was at it again Saturday at the Air Force Relays. She threw the hammer 156-1 1/4, setting the school record in the event. That bettered the previous mark by nearly 3 feet. She placed ninth overall in the event.
Alex Estes, track and field
2010 graduate of Soroco High School, junior at Adams State University
Estes placed third in the long jump at the Don Kirby Tailwind Collegiate Invitational at University of New Mexico on Saturday, notching a provisionally qualifying distance for the Division II national championships. His jump measured 23-5 1/2.
Kevin Bertrand, lacrosse
2008 graduate of Steamboat Springs High School, senior at Adams State University
Bertrand scored one goal and took two shots Friday in a 12-4 loss to Dominican, a California squad. He then scored four goals on four shots in a big 16-7 win against Notre Dame de Namur on Sunday. He also had an assist in the game.
Brian Bertrand, lacrosse
2010 graduate of Steamboat Springs High School, junior at Adams State University
Bertrand played against Dominican and Notre Dame de Namur. He registered a shot Sunday.
Jasper Gantick, lacrosse
2009 graduate of Steamboat Springs High School, junior at the University of Tampa
Gantick started at midfield Friday as Tampa beat Rollins, 10-6, to improve to 9-4 on the season.
