Alex Estes, track and field
2010 graduate of Soroco High School, junior at Adams State University
Estes placed third in the men's long jump, leaping 21 feet, 4 inches at a track meet Saturday at Colorado School of Mines.
Jamey Swiggart, tennis
2012 graduate of Steamboat Springs High School, freshman at Idaho State University
Swiggart pushed his singles record to 11-2 overall and 6-0 in the Big Sky conference with a trio of wins last week. He beat Rodrigo Campos of Youngstown State, 6-2, 6-3, to wrap up play in a Las Vegas tournament; beat Russ Christensen of Southern Utah, 6-0, 6-1, Thursday; and defeated Kester Black of Northern Arizona, 6-3, 6-0, on Saturday.
Jasper Gantick, lacrosse
2009 graduate of Steamboat Springs High School, junior at the University of Tampa
Gantick started in a pair of games for Tampa and scooped four ground balls. The squad won both games, beating MIT, 13-9, and Lenoir Rhyne, 13-11. The team is now 8-4 on the season.
Kevin Bertrand, lacrosse
2008 graduate of Steamboat Springs High School, senior at Adams State University
Bertrand struck twice, scoring a pair of goals Saturday in an 11-6 loss to Colorado Mesa. Adams State is 1-5 on the season. Bertrand's five goals scored is fifth on the team.
Carly Fox, crew
2011 graduate of Steamboat Springs High School, sophomore at the University of Puget Sound
Fox rowed with the women's varsity 8 Saturday in the Cascade Sprints in Lakewood, Wash. The boat ended up fourth, finishing the course in 7 minutes, 2.1 seconds, behind Western Washington at 6:48.0, Humboldt State at 6:51.6 and UC San Diego at 6:52.6.
