Road work on US 40 in downtown Steamboat to impact traffic Tuesday
July 19, 2011
Steamboat Springs — Motorists traveling into and out of downtown Steamboat Springs from the mountain area can expect some delays Tuesday as Colorado Department of Transportation crews work to repair a section of U.S. Highway 40.
The CDOT crews are repairing ruts and potholes in the eastbound and westbound lanes of U.S. 40 from the Old Town Hot Springs to Hilltop Parkway. The work is expected to wrap up by the end of the day.
Eastbound traffic on U.S. 40 will be reduced to one lane in the work zone this morning. Crews hope to have that side of the highway done by noon, a CDOT employee said. They'll then switch to the westbound lanes this afternoon and reduce traffic to one lane there, too.
Tuesday's work will tie in with similar work done last week on the section of U.S. 40 from Hilltop Parkway east toward Anglers Drive.
