River Road in Steamboat reopens after April rock slide

Pilot & Today Staff

— River Road reopened to through traffic today, according to a news release from the city of Steamboat Springs. The road was closed starting the evening of April 19 because of a rock slide that left large boulders in the road and subsequent slope stabilization work.

According to the release, "The city would like to thank Duckels Construction, Rogue Resources and Yeh and Associates for their efforts in assessing the slope and working to open the road as quickly as possible. The city greatly appreciates the patience of the local community in enduring the closure for the last few weeks."

Public Works employees will continue to monitor the area, and drivers can expect minor delays in the future for possible additional repair work, the release stated.
