8:35 p.m. Officers and Routt County Sheriff's Office deputies were called to a report of a strange man who asked an 11-year-old boy for water and then started to chase him at Spring Creek Park. The boy made it back to his mother, and deputies contacted the man.

2:35 a.m. Officers were called to a report of a drunk person who was lost in the 2400 block of Storm Meadows Drive. The person was handed over to a sober friend.

12:12 a.m. Steamboat Springs Police Department officers were called to a report of four or five people taking a traffic cone in the 1400 block of South Lincoln Avenue. They could not be located.

8:55 a.m. Officers were called to a report of an 82-year old woman in the 400 block of Sixth Street, who said someone had trespassed on her property and picked a bunch of cherries. The woman did not know the value of the stolen cherries, but she told police she usually can make about 20 pies with them. The woman did not think a bear took her cherries.

1:09 a.m. Steamboat Springs Police Department officers were called to a report of a bear in the 800 block of Yampa Street. It was scared away with beanbag rounds.

4:42 a.m. Officers were called to a report of a suspicious incident at a hotel in the 200 block of Lincoln Avenue. The front desk clerk got a call from a guest’s room, but the clerk could only hear breathing. Police checked on the guest. He was fine and had fallen asleep while on the phone.

12:05 p.m. Officers were called to a report of two roommates who were arguing about leaving each other's property alone in the 500 block of Harms Court. Police mediated the argument.

3:02 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a dog locked in a vehicle in the 1700 block of Fetcher Park Drive. Animal Control took the dog into custody and took it to the animal shelter.

12:01 a.m. Steamboat Springs Police Department officers were called to a report of a suspicious person in the 1300 block of Athens Plaza. A man was banging on a friend’s door. The friend had fallen asleep, and police gave the man a ride home.

11:19 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a bear at a car wash in the 100 block of Trafalgar Drive. The bear was scared away.

12:51 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a suspicious incident in the block of Lincoln Avenue at the Yampa River. A white male was seen smoking marijuana, was building a four-foot-tall structure with rocks and was yelling at people.

Road rage incident results in felony arrest

A 40-year-old Steamboat Springs man was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of felony second-degree assault after a road rage incident at the new stop signs at the Mount Werner Road underpass.

6:34 a.m. Officers were called to a report of a bear trying to get into a kitchen window in the 1300 block of Blue Sage Drive. The window screen was damaged, and items were knocked over. The bear was gone when officers arrived.
