Rams girls basketball team rolls past North Park, 51-29
December 4, 2010
The Soroco High School girls basketball team had little trouble with North Park on Thursday, easily winning, 51-29.
Soroco led, 25-11, at half, extended to 41-17 at the beginning of the third quarter and led by as much as 49-19 midway through the fourth in picking up the team's first victory of the year.
"I was really pleased," coach David Bruner said. "It's been some years since we've beat them. It's nice to get a W."
The Rams shot 70 percent from the free-throw line but just 22 percent from the floor. Bruner said the Rams, however, got up tons of shots and easy baskets off their press.
Brandi Roundtree led Soroco with 12 points, and Micaela Meyer had 11. Corey Snyder and Ceanna Rossi each had 11 rebounds.
Soroco next plays at 6 p.m. Monday at home against Steamboat's junior varsity team.
