Steamboat Springs — An 11-minute power outage Wednesday morning temporarily left about 9,200 Yampa Valley Electric Association customers without electricity.
YVEA spokesman Jim Chappell said the outage hit at 10:03 a.m. after a fault on one of Xcel Energy's transmission lines. The outage impacted the western part of YVEA's grid, from Hayden to Elk Springs and from Baggs, Wyo., to Hamilton. Chappell said power was restored by 10:14 a.m.
Chappell said the cause of the outage is not yet known, but that Xcel Energy is investigating.
