Officials await test results in Steamboat death investigations

Pilot & Today Staff

— Officials are awaiting the toxicology reports to determine what killed Anna Kay Forbes, the 37-year-old Steamboat Springs woman found dead Nov. 5 on Rabbit Ears Pass.

Routt County Sheriff's Office investigator Mike Curzon said he found nothing suspicious in the investigation — one set of footprints and no weapon or indications of a crime. Initial autopsy results were also inconclusive, and Routt County Coroner Rob Ryg said he now is looking to the toxicology results for answers. He said he hopes to have the results from the Denver lab by the end of the week.

A service for Forbes is from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday at 1768 Brome Drive.

Ryg also said an autopsy for Susan Herman, the 53-year-old woman found dead in her Walton Creek home Monday, will be performed today to determine the cause of death. Police reported there was nothing suspicious in her death.

A service for Herman is at 2 p.m. Friday at Euzoa Bible Church. Call the Yampa Valley Funeral Home with questions at 970-879-1494.
