Born in Hastings, NE June 5, 1980 a month prematurely, he took on the world from day one. Soon after his birth, his parents moved to Steamboat Springs. Corey loved growing up in Steamboat and everything this wonderful community had to offer playing with neighborhood kids, enjoying football, soccer, skiing and snowboarding on Mt. Werner. He graduated from SSHS in 1998 after participating in athletics and making many lifelong friends including classmates, teachers & coaches . After graduating from Arizona State Univ in 2002 with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Corey worked in the mortgage business for many years, lived in Denver & CA, and co-managed Mtn Temp Agency in Steamboat upon returning to his hometown in 2007. He was passionate about sports…football, basketball, NASCAR, and a lifelong NE Cornhusker and Denver Broncos fan. Corey passed away Jan 25, 2014 at the Med Ctr of the Rockies in Loveland, CO following a brave, inspiring battle with Scleroderma & Polymyocitis, two autoimmune diseases. Through it all, Corey’s sharp mind and beautiful spirit never gave up, always searching for a cure.
