Oak Creek Town Board to consider waiver of electric upgrade costs

— The Oak Creek Town Board will consider at its 7 p.m. Thursday meeting a request from Leonard Herzog, of Select Super, to waive all the costs associated with a voltage upgrade for the Main Street grocer.

Select Super has plans to upgrade its refrigeration and freezers and needs three-phase power installed to complete the project and make it more efficient.

The cost for the project first was estimated at $10,575 but was revised to $4,400 if the town did the majority of the work.

A staff memo states there are no provisions in the town's code for not collecting the cost of the project. However, the town will present four options ranging from requiring the total cost to be paid upfront to backfilling the costs to the utility from the town's general fund.

The Town Board also will consider vacating a section of South Arthur Avenue alley and approving a $10,640 cost-of-service study agreement with Nebraska Municipal Power Pool.
