Oak Creek Town Board to be presented with 2014 draft budget
October 9, 2013
Steamboat Springs — The Oak Creek Town Board will be presented with the town’s 2014 draft budget during its 7 p.m. Thursday meeting.
General fund revenues for the town are projected to decrease by about $200,000 compared with 2013. Overall, the budget will see a revenue increase of $315,407 mostly because of grant funds expected for the water utility fund, according to the draft budget.
The budget summary states that the continued drop in property tax revenue is less than anticipated and sales tax revenue is projected to grow modestly. The management fees charged to enterprise funds that were adopted as part of the 2013 budget have been reduced.
Management fees made up more than 40 percent of general fund revenue in the 2013 budget. In the proposed 2014 budget, management fees are 14.8 percent of general fund revenues.
The management fees have drawn opposition from Oak Creek property owner Scott Wedel.
