SportsMed offering free hand paraffin dips

SportsMed at Yampa Valley Medical Center is celebrating National Hand Therapy Week by offering free hand paraffin dips from 1 to 3 p.m. daily, Monday to June 17, on a drop-in basis. Free hand-injury screenings are by appointment only. Call 871-2370.

Sailors Golf Shoot-out registrations accepted

Organizers are taking registrations for the third annual Sailors Golf Shoot-out, which is scheduled to take place Tuesday at Catamount Ranch & Club.

The Shoot-out is a benefit for the high school golf program and includes 18 holes of golf, lunch, skills contests and auctions.

The tournament will feature four-person teams competing in a modified two best-ball format. Players should arrive at 10:30 a.m., and the tournament will begin at 12:30 p.m. with a shotgun start.

The cost is $150 a person. Registration forms can be picked up at any local golf course, or golfers can reserve a space or get more information by calling Catamount golf professional Tom Taylor at 871-9200.

Veterans encouraged

to find out about benefits

Routt County veterans are encouraged to stop by the Colorado Workforce Office in Sundance at Fishcreek shopping center and visit with the Routt County Veterans Affairs officer. Fresh Air Fitness offering summer deck classes

Fresh Air Fitness offers summer deck classes for $7 a person with a 10-punch card. Morning classes include aerobics, stretch and strength, yoga and volleyball, and evening classes include step aerobics, weights and jump rope for kids. Call 846-3356.

Hospice Celebration

The 12th annual Hospice Celebration is June 27 and June 28. The event includes a Celebration of Life Dinner beginning at 6 p.m. at the Sheraton Steamboat Resort Hotel. Guitarist Brent Rowan will perform after dinner. On June 28, Hospice will host a golf tournament at 10 a.m. at Catamount Ranch & Club.

Tickets for the golf tournament are $200 and include the dinner. Individuals who want to attend only the dinner can purchase tickets for $60 a person or $100 a couple. Tickets are available at the Visiting Nurse Association, 940 Central Park Drive, Suite 101. July 3 Ranch Rodeo

Entry forms for the July 3 Ranch Rodeo are available at Soda Creek Western Mercantile and at Mountain Valley Bank. The Ranch Rodeo is a part of Cowboy Round-Up Days. The rodeo will be limited to the first 20 teams. Call 879-3146.
