Volunteers needed for weekend bike race
Volunteers are needed for The 24 Hours of Steamboat bike race Saturday and Sunday. Help is needed for set-up from 1 to 5 p.m. Friday, during the race from noon Saturday to noon Sunday and for tear down from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday. Call 879-0480.
Any help is welcome. All the volunteers who work a four-hour shift will receive a T-shirt and will be entered to win prizes at the post-race party.

The 12th annual Hospice Celebration is June 27 and June 28. The event includes a Celebration of Life Dinner beginning at 6 p.m. at the Sheraton Steamboat Resort Hotel. Guitarist Brent Rowan will perform after dinner. On June 28, Hospice will host a golf tournament at Catamount Ranch and Club beginning at 10 a.m.

Tickets are $200 for the golf tournament, which includes dinner. Individuals who want to attend the dinner only can purchase tickets for $60 a person or $100 a couple. July 3 Ranch Rodeo

Entry forms for the July 3 Ranch Rodeo are available at Soda Creek Western Mercantile and at Mountain Valley Bank. The Ranch Rodeo is a part of Cowboy Round-Up Days. The rodeo will be limited to the first 20 teams. Call 879-3146.
Figure skating club
to hold meeting, elections
Steamboat Springs Figure Skating Club’s general membership meeting and election is at 11 a.m. Saturday at Howelsen Ice Arena. Nominations will be held, followed by elections for three positions on the board of directors.
SSFSC is seeking members with leadership skills to volunteer for board positions. The meeting will continue with information and registration for summer skating, and an update on the 2005-06 skating season. All interested people are invited to attend. Refreshments will be served.
SSFSC is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the development of Steamboat’s artistic athletes. Call 879-7785.
Vacation Bible School
will be held Sunday
The United Methodist Church will host Vacation Bible School from 1 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Circle G Ranch. There is no charge for the day-long event, which includes stories, crafts, games, music dinner and a campfire.
YVMC looking for
Yampa Valley Medical Center is looking for volunteers to help with its Kiddie Kuddler program and to help residents in the Doak Walker Care Center. Call volunteer coordinator Mindy Fontaine at 870-1146.

4-H Club hosting annual charity horseback ride
The Steamboat 4-H Club will host the 10th annual charity horseback ride to benefit the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at 9 a.m. June 18. Call 879-2968.
