Neil Siettmann: 1943-2005

Steamboat Springs resident Neil Siettmann died June 23, 2005, at Denver Health Medical Center from a head injury caused by an accident. He was 62.
Neil was born Feb. 28, 1943, in Milwaukee, Wis. He attended the University of Wisconsin in Madison. He worked as a civil engineer for the U.S. Government for 33 years in Wisconsion, Alabama and Colorado until he retired from the U.S. Forest Service in 1997. Neil was happily married for 37 years, an active member in the United Methodist Church, a Boy Scout leader, a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity, and an avid skier and outdoor enthusiast. Neil was also a frequent winner on KBCR Sports Trivia. Neil was also a youth group leader for many years.
Neil is survived by his wife, Judy; his sister, Gail Seibert; his three children, Scott Siettmann, Kristin Greco and Amy Kirt–land; and seven grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, his family asks that donations be made to the United Methodist Youth Group. A memorial service was held June 29, 2005, at the United Methodist Church.
