Nationwide CenturyLink Internet outage affects parts of Colorado
May 7, 2013
Steamboat Springs — A CenturyLink high-speed Internet outage Tuesday morning left some in Colorado without Internet access for more than eight hours, according to Western Slope Public Relations Manager Randy Krause.
A core router failed, Krause said, leaving about 1 million people nationwide without Internet service from about 2:30 to 11 a.m.
There were no reported outages in Routt County linked to the nationwide issue, according to Krause, but Eagle County saw about 14,300 customers lose service.
"Most of our Colorado outages were down in San Luis Valley area," he said.
For customers who did experience service interruptions, Krause said, reviews are underway as to whether they will receive rebates.
