Minor injuries in morning crash in Steamboat
August 5, 2010
Steamboat Springs — One person was taken to Yampa Valley Medical Center with minor injuries this morning after a three-vehicle crash on the west side of Steamboat Springs.
Steamboat Springs Police Department officer Bill Stucker said a Dodge pickup apparently rear-ended a Toyota pickup as the Toyota prepared to turn left from U.S. Highway 40 at Snow Bowl Plaza at about 8:30 a.m. That propelled the Toyota pickup into an oncoming Lexus.
Stucker said medical crews took the man driving the Toyota to YVMC with minor injuries. Neither of the other drivers was taken by ambulance. Stucker said a ticket was issued in the crash, but because he was not the investigating officer, he didn't know what the ticket was for.
The highway was temporarily closed as emergency responders worked at the scene, causing a traffic backup.
