Man suspected of burglarizing ex-girlfriend’s home: The Record for Sunday, July 16, 2017

5:37 a.m. Steamboat Springs Police Department officers were called to a report of a bear in the 3400 block of Mica Court.

9:02 a.m. Steamboat Springs Police Department officers were called to a report of a drunken person in the 1800 block of Central Park Drive.

12:14 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a man who had allegedly climbed into his ex-girlfriend’s house in Steamboat through a window and stolen two remote control batteries. The man also reportedly damaged a television in the home. As officers were trying to get in touch with the man to question him about the report, they were called back to the same home later Sunday afternoon for a report the same man had come back to the apartment, climbed through a bedroom window and assaulted the woman while also threatening to harm her if she did not call off the police, according to an arrest affidavit. Police arrested the man on suspicion of first degree burglary, 3rd degree assault and robbery.

12:44 p.m. Steamboat Springs Fire Rescue emergency responders were called to a report of trauma in the 140 block of Trafalgar Drive.

6:17 p.m. Officers were called to a complaint about fireworks in the 500 block of Harms Court.
