Man reports being jumped in downtown Steamboat

— The Steamboat Springs Police Department is investigating an assault that occurred Tuesday night in downtown Steamboat.

Sgt. Rich Brown said a man was walking from Yampa Street toward Lincoln Avenue on Eighth Street at about 11 p.m. when he was jumped and assaulted by two males. No weapons were involved.

The incident was reported to police after the man went to Yampa Valley Medical Center on Wednesday morning and said he had been jumped. He had some injuries to his face.
