Lila Rider: Oak Creek/Phippsburg news for March 21
March 21, 2010
Happy birthday to Lila Rider, who celebrated her 83rd birthday Friday. Congratulations Lila!
St. Patrick's Day
Here at the Doak Walker Care Center, everybody was excited for a St. Patrick's Day feast of corned beef, cabbage and shepherd's pie.
Thanks to everybody who has donated jewelry to the weekly bingo games, and thanks to Blythe Terrell for her recent donation. We sure appreciate all of the donations, and we're also looking for stuffed animals to give away along with the jewelry.
Frances Wither has been enjoying visitors over here, and Carol Rickman has been enjoying visits from family and friends. Bettie Pierce has had her son and daughter-in-law in visiting with her. Marvin Shively has been enjoying visits from his granddaughters, and Rosa DeVault has been having lots of company in visiting with her.
Darlene Cantrell's grandson and the rest of the family have been in visiting with her, and Mr. and Mrs. Leland Workman from Silverthorne were here to visit Elvin and Gordon Miles.
Phyllis Fulton's son has been in here visiting with her, and Dee Heid's son was in visiting with her the other day. Irene Meyers also stopped in to visit with Lila Rider and Rosa DeVault.
Sympathies to the friends and family of Dorothy Shively. There was a memorial service for her Tuesday. Sympathies also to family and friends of Rose Bedell, who recently turned 100. Her memorial service was Sunday.
We also are keeping regular visitor Jim Novak in our thoughts. He left for New Jersey, where his father passed away.
Welcome to all the new people who have moved in with us here at the Doak, and we hope the people who have gone home come back to visit us — in good health!
