Lila Rider: Oak Creek/Phippsburg news for March 14
March 14, 2010
There was a big birthday party March 6 at the Doak Walker Care Center to celebrate Bob Myers' 101st birthday. We enjoyed the birthday cake and him, too. Congratulations Bob!
Frances Wither has been enjoying a visit from her daughter from Utah. She's been doing business in town and stopped by to see her mother several times.
Carol Rickman has had family on a regular basis, and Bettie Pierce's son and daughter-in-law have been in.
John Shively's daughter is here visiting with them, and Rosa DeVault has been having lots of company and friends in to visit with her.
Darlene Cantrell's daughter and son-in-law have been in, and Elvin Miles had Dwayne and Lance in to see him.
Susan Pickering has been up from Craig to visit, and Phyllis Fulton's son has been here visiting her a couple times from Hayden.
Toby Reid, of Boulder, was in visiting with Lila Rider as he passed through town, too.
Everybody was excited for a party the Aspen group had on Friday in the Primrose Room. It was a chance for everybody from that wing of the Doak to get together and have a nice lunch.
Joke of the week
A lady was checking out the insane asylum and talking to the doctor. She asked him how they decide who to keep in the asylum.
The doctor said, "Well, we have a standard test. We fill a bathtub up with water, and we give a patient a teaspoon, a cup and a bucket and ask them to empty the tub."
The lady laughed and said, "Well anybody sane like me would know that the bucket is so much bigger than the other two options, it's obvious I would use that."
The doctor shook his head and said, "Anybody sane would pull the plug on the tub. Would you like a room with a window?"
